Though they thought that they found Rampage, they were in fact ambushed by Shockaract and his clones, with Jazz and Streetwise being quickly taken down by Darkburn knocking the pair out with his super speed.
When Depth Charge suggested they stick with them, Jazz reassured Streetwise it was a better move than having them leave by themselves and that he was being paranoid by thinking someone would die. Entering the forest, Jazz watched as Depth Charge noticed they were being followed by Hot Shot and Transmutate, who had entered the forest to look for Rampage as well. In Your Destiny In Your Hands, Jazz was tasked with helping his old commander Depth Charge and Streetwise find Rampage, who had gone into the Forest of Trials after his clone Shockaract and the other clones he had recruited. In I Hide My True Origin, Jazz was talking to someone as Lightbright was passing by. They initially mistook the escaped Rampage for a guard, only for Depth Charge to realise that he was one of protoforms stolen from an Autobot facility. Prior to The Greatest Weapon, Jazz and Prowl were part of Depth Charge's team on the space station Omicron. Jazz would spend much of his time serving under Depth Charge.
